The MET
MISSION: The Met is an orchestra committed to offering the enjoyment of symphonic and chamber music repertoire to all audiences in an accessible and affordable way. Its members share the belief in the power of this art-form to transform communities and to enrich lives. It performs full works in a vast array of styles and extends a platform for music appreciation while providing opportunity for Canadian musicians to showcase their talents in performance and composition.
VISION: The Met will be recognized as the people’s orchestra. It will be celebrated for the quality of its performances, innovative programming and broad artistic vision. It will continuously forge collaborations among artists and local groups to explore ways of presenting music that is inspiring, appealing, and intellectually vibrant.


Conductor - Kimberley McMann
Kimberley, originally from Riverview, New Brunswick, began her musical career as a celtic musician. After releasing 2 recordings, performing at the Canada Winter Games, and touring with the late John Allan Cameron, she pursued her classical music education, first at Dalhousie University with a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance, and then with a Masters degree in music at the University of Alberta, in choral conducting.
As a singer, Kimberley has performed multiple operatic roles with several different companies including Opera Nova Scotia, and ‘Lola’ in Pop Goes the Opera’s production of Cavalleria Rusticana.
As a conductor, she has been the Assistant conductor of Accord Ensemble, Vocal Alchemy, and she is currently the Assistant conductor of the National Award winning chamber choir, i Coristi. She has also been the Musical Director/ Conductor for several different shows in Edmonton, including Trinity Players production of Fiddler on the Roof, and Two One-Way Tickets to Broadway’s production of Into the Woods, at the Winspear.
Currently, in addition to the MET and i Coristi, Kimberley is the Director of Music at McDougall United Church, as well as a private voice and piano teacher.
